  2.  ------------------ README.TXT FOR THE LASER LETTERHEAD KIT -------------------

  4.  Thank you for your trial use of The Laser Letterhead Kit. You will need an IBM
  5.  286, 386, 486, or higher computer (no special extended or expanded memory 
  6.  requirements), DOS 3.0 or higher, and a Hewlett-Packard LaserJet printer or a
  7.  100% compatible. All LaserJet printers, except the original LaserJet, may be 
  8.  used. The printer must use HP's Printer Command Language (PCL) version 4 or 
  9.  higher. Dot Matrix and most ink jet printers do not use this command language.
  10.  The Kit will install on a hard disk or floppy diskette, 720K or larger. A 360K
  11.  diskette will not hold the files expanded during the INSTALL program.

  13.  The INSTALL program has been designed for use after downloading LETKIT35.EXE
  14.  from a BBS. It will install from a hard disk to the same or different hard
  15.  disk. It will also install from or to a floppy diskette/hard disk. The only
  16.  caution is not to install it in the same drive and directory where the down-
  17.  loaded files are currently located.  
  18.  
  19.  There are 5 files to be extracted from LETKIT35.EXE: 
  20.  
  21.   (1) FONTS.EXE  (2) INSTALL.EXE  (3) LLHK.EXE  (4) PCX.EXE  (5) README.TXT

  23.  If any of these 5 files are missing, please contact your shareware distributor
  24.  or CPI Sofware. It is necessary to use the INSTALL program to properly set up
  25.  the files and enter your installation input into The Laser Letterhead Kit's
  26.  setup program. Immediately after the installation, you may print letterheads.
  27.  
  28.  All of the necessary PCL bit map soft fonts and PCX images are included in the
  29.  above. You do not need an additional program to download soft fonts to your
  30.  laser printer. Nothing more is needed. The Laser Letterhead Kit does it all.

  32.  If all of the above 5 files are in the current drive/directory on a hard disk
  33.  or floppy diskette, you may install The Laser Letterhead Kit by typing:

  35.                        INSTALL   (then strike the ENTER key)
  36.  
  37.  Follow the on screen instructions. After The Laser Letterhead Kit is installed,
  38.  the README.DOC file will be available in the directory or on the diskette 
  39.  where you placed the program files. The README.DOC file contains instructions
  40.  for using and customizing The Kit.

  42.  You may view the README.DOC file by logging on to the directory or diskette 
  43.  where The Laser Letterhead Kit is located, and typing:

  45.                         BROWSE README.DOC (then strike ENTER key)

  47.  Since you will need to use the README.DOC file as INSTRUCTIONS when The Kit is
  48.  up and running, you may want to print a copy on your laser printer by typing
  49.  either of the two commands, while logged on to The Kit's directory or diskette:

  51.     PRINT README.DOC   or,   TYPE README.DOC > PRN  (then stike ENTER key)

  53.  The README.DOC file is 5 pages long and will supply you will all necessary 
  54.  information to operate and customize The Laser Letterhead Kit to your needs.

  56.  The Kit is started by typing LP and striking the ENTER key.

  82.     also receive 7 typeface font families encompassing 68 PCL soft font files. 
  83.     Do not include instructions for creating your free letterhead, logo, and
  84.     watermark. This is done with the PCX Pak above after it is received. 
  85.     Templates are available at extra cost that will place your PCX Letterheads
  86.     into WordPerfect or Word for Windows.
